The Kalispel Tribe owns and operates more than a dozen businesses and enterprises in and around the Pend Oreille area.

We believe in building a strong community and our economic development opportunities emphasize our commitment to the land and people.

Housing Authority

The Kalispel Tribal Housing Office (KTHO) is here to serve our Tribal Members. The Housing office exists to provide information, resources, and assistance to our membership.

KTHO will coordinate with our membership to understand what their needs are & how they can put a plan in place to help make members housing dreams a reality. This office administers a variety of programs and has access to housing resources and serves as the central source of grant dollars from government agencies to our membership. Stop by and chat with our staff anytime.

The Housing office also oversees all the rental homes on the reservation and is currently developing more housing opportunities through rental units and homeownership. Interested individuals can contact us anytime for application or any questions or concerns they may have regarding housing issues.

Programs

When a housing service request is submitted please include a working contact number and plan ahead to make sure someone will be available at the residence once the work has been scheduled.

LIHEAP PROGRAM

Utilities assistance such as fire-wood or electric-bill assistance. This program can be utilized twice a year.  You must be a Native American residing in Pend Orielle County.

Snow Removal

When the snow flies, the Tribe mobilizes a variety of equipment to tackle the removal of snow and ice. It consists of snow plows and sanders, skid steers, wheel loaders, snow blowers and your basic snow shoveling. This work is accomplished by using existing full-time employees in the carpentry and grounds maintenance group as well as a team of on-call snow shovelers to support their efforts.

The services above are performed at tribal facilities, and to assist with keeping tribal homes accessible during inclement weather. This can range from driveway plowing, to sidewalk and walkway shoveling.

Major roads on the reservation are maintained by Pend O’Reille County public works staff.
